BASIC ELECTRONICS

The course in Basic Electronics is an
introduction to the subject of
electronics and the laboratory system Electronics 2000.
The Laboratory package consists of the
Base Unit 2000 and five laboratory cards.
The Base Unit serves as a cardholder
and power supply with fuses
for the laboratory cards. The Laboratory package covers the basics
in electronics, and with great emphasis on the system method.
The laboratory card 4 is the most intricate
and contains a power supply with which the student can learn
how the different components function as well as practise trouble
shooting in order
to gain a better understanding of the system.
The educational package in Basic Electronics
contains a Text book,
Experiment book, Teacher´s book as well as an Exercise
book.
Every effort has been put into the layout and the teaching methods.

Topics covered
Basic Electronics covers the folloing topics using the Lab Cards
15 as indicated in brackets:
Identifying and measuring resistors (1) and capacitors (2)
The diode (3)
Full and half-wave rectification (4)
Filtration (4)
Voltage stabilisation (4)
The light emitting diode (LED) (4)
Transistor currents and voltages (5)
Current amplification with transistor (4)
The transistor as regulating component (4)
Current limitation (4)
Fault detection (5)
After the course the student
should be able to:
Trouble shoot in a simple power supply.
Choose measuring methods and measuring instruments to examine
components.
Explain how ordinary electronic components work and recognise
their functions in electronic systems.
Interpret component symbols in electronic diagrams.
Interpret component markings and colour codes with the help of
tables and colour charts.
Explain how half wave rectification works.
Describe the function and working ways of the Diode and Transistor.
